Position Overview:

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking to hire a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as a supervisor of Administrative Coordination Unit. This position serves as a working supervisor, plans, directs, and evaluates the operations of the statewide Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity program; directs the activities, quality control and implements management studies to track and monitor performance standards for the program.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills to be successful in evaluating the operations of the Administrative Coordination Unit.

Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as the Administrative Coordination Unit (ACU) Supervisor by planning, directing, and evaluating the operations of the statewide Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity (VAP) program
  • Serves as working supervisor
  • Directs the activities and quality control within the Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity unit
  • Develops and implements management studies to track and monitor performance standards and quality control for the operations of the Statewide Voluntary Acknowledgement Program
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience interpreting policies and provisions of State and Federal laws and guidelines for the establishment of Paternity and processing of Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity forms
  • Two (2) years of experience reading and interpreting Child Support Database systems and databases such as: VAPPEL, KOFAX
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Two (2) years professional experience utilizing the principles and practices of public and business administration
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with internal and external partners

Specialized Skills

  • Two (2) years of experience interpreting policies and provisions of State and Federal laws and guidelines for the establishment of Paternity and processing of Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity forms
  • Two (2) years of experience reading and interpreting Child Support Database systems and databases such as: VAPPEL, KOFAX

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires the ability to pass a background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
