Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to cover the complete range of locksmith tasks from the duplication of keys to the layout of major keying systems. This position is responsible for key coding and fitting, fabrication of keys, installation of door hardware, troubleshooting door lock, card access devices, and door concerns, all of which require working with very close tolerances. The position also works in tandem with the other staff in the lock-shop including planning and overall operation of the lock-shop. This position will independently diagnose and decide when to repair or replace various locks and door hardware, layout master and sub-master keying and card access systems, rotate all locks on a semester basis, select supplies, locks, and equipment needed for overall lock shop operation and to maintain the security.

Must have NC Locksmith License
